When Square is the better choice
- You want to spend nothing. Square's free plan is permanent and needs no card; DeMark has no free plan and never will.
- You take money at a counter. Square sells the terminal, the card reader and the point of sale; DeMark only takes cards online, through your own Stripe account.
- You need a mobile app, gift cards, loyalty or staff shifts. Square has all four and DeMark has none of them.
- You want phone support in French from a large company at any hour a large company answers.
When DeMark is the better choice
- You want written quotes, invoices, a client portal and booking in one place, set up for you rather than assembled by you.
- You want one person who knows your business to answer, from the entry plan, instead of a queue.
- You want a straight answer about where your data lives and a one-click export the day you leave.
