Privacy policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
DeMark ("we", "us") is a small business based in New Brunswick, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone and business name if you provide them, and your message.
- Booking form: the same details plus the date and time you choose.
- Chat widget: what you type in the conversation, and the details you give so we can follow up.
- Technical logs: our server keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, time, browser type) for security and troubleshooting, kept for 30 days.
We do not use analytics trackers, advertising cookies or third-party scripts. The only cookie we set remembers your language preference.
Why we use it
To reply to you, prepare a quote, deliver the service you asked for, and keep a record of our exchange while we work together. We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing.
Who can see it
Only DeMark. Messages you send through the site are delivered to our business mailbox and stored in our own systems. If we ever need a subcontractor to help on your project, we tell you first.
Where your information is stored
DeMark is based in New Brunswick, but our server is hosted in the United States, and our business email runs on Google Workspace. That means your information is stored outside Canada and, while it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country — including lawful access requests by its authorities, which we would not necessarily be told about.
We tell you this because Canadian privacy law requires it, and because you should be able to decide with the facts. If you would rather your information did not leave Canada, write to us before sending anything sensitive and we will arrange another way to work together.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't become projects are deleted after 12 months. Client records are kept for the duration of our work together and for 7 years afterwards, as required for tax and accounting purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the email address on our contact page and we'll respond within 30 days.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Our systems are protected by access controls and regular backups. No method is perfectly secure, and if a breach ever affected your information we would notify you as the law requires.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated. Significant changes are communicated to current clients directly.
